Welcome to Heal Your Story
“Write what should not be forgotten.” -Isabelle Allende
Hello friend,
Something brought you to this program.
Something in your body said, 'yes, it's time.' Time for what exactly? I can't tell you that in its entirety, that's your inner truth. Here is what I do know– It's time to heal, to embody, to use words to uncover the story within you.
Years ago, old trauma wounds begin knocking on the door of my life, I resisted for fear of who I might find waiting for me on the other side. Finally, I surrendered to the somatic calling and yearning to know what was true. The process of healing my story was painful. Like ripping a bandaid off an open wound, but through time and bravery I begin to heal my own life. I want to help you do the same.
A client recently asked me, 'Will I feel better once I start facing my trauma?" I laughed. I didn't want to break her heart, so incredibly full of hope. "No" I said, "you will feel worse... at first." Her face fell. She wanted an easy answer, a quick fix, a shot of resolution that I could not give her.
That said, the process of healing one's story is a lifetime journey, but I firmly believe integration comes when we make space to witness our truth, uncover our voice, and befriend the stories that live within us.
So will this course bring up a lot for you? I hope so. I hope it disrupts you, shakes you, but also revives you. I hope it shines light on the wounds, so that you can begin to heal them in the light of day.
Let the healing begin,
Megan
How the course works…
Heal Your Story is broken up into three fundamental pillars: voice, body, and integration. Each pillar has a teaching session, embodied storytelling techniques, and writing prompts to engage the material.
This material is deep and it is meant to take you past the shallow end of the pool in your writing. That said, take your time with each section, each prompt and each technique.
For the most impactful experience, I suggest focusing on a new pillar each month for three months, that way you can really absorb the information taught here and try out the techniques for yourself.
You will see clickable links to the next lesson at the end of each section and Back to Home button as well to return you to the table of contents. Be kind and take your time. Healing is not meant to be rushed through.
A few things to remember…
) Healing is not a linear process. There is not a point A and point B. We must allow ourselves to shift and move and fall and grow all in the name of process.
2) We can’t rush our healing. It takes time and that’s okay. Give yourself grace and compassion to feel all that you need to at a pace that you need too.
3) You don’t have to do this alone. Trauma recovery can feel so isolating. You need people and communities you can trust that you can share your voice and story with.
4) Our bodies hold stories. Sometimes we can’t say how we feel, but our body clues us in with the psychosomatic. Listen to your body with open ears. Consider the story it’s trying to tell you.
5) Stay kind. You’re fighting a hard battle. You have made it this far and you will make it even farther. I love you.
Healing one's story is a life long journey that we can either participate in or ignore. If we choose to ignore, it is a slow death of our intuition, integration, and the calling of wholeness in the wake of a massive split.
This course is an invitation that you have said yes too. You have answered the knocking from your inner knowing and are ready to partner with an awakening. Let's begin.
