Lesson 6: Create an Inner Child Blessing
Here is the Inner Child Blessing that I wrote. You are welcome to read this over your altar and bless all the ages of yourself, but I also invite you to write you own inner child blessing in the next lesson.
I bless you little one. The bloodiness of your birth. That first cry. The beginnings of hunger and longing. May you know fullness and contentment with your desire.
I bless the little fingers and toes.
That reached for a mother, a father, a friend.
May you know today that you held by my presence and care.
I bless the playful innocence of your young soul.
That chased the sunlight before you knew to fear the dark.
May you know that risk to play once again and heal through curiosity.
I bless your young body, your skin, your eyes, your hair.
That began too early to take on insecurity that were never yours to hold. May you know your beauty is breathtaking and that you are loved.
I bless all the feelings that you every felt or were afraid to feel. The feelings of sadness, fear, doubt, anger, love, desire, and hope. May you know that all of you is welcome here now.
I bless your voice, from the first cry of birth to your final growth spurt. That voice that was silenced, ignored, and told to be quiet and listen up. May you know now your voice matters, your story matters, you belong here.
I bless your adolescence, your changing body, your newfound longing. The friends you made, the friends you lost, and all the times you felt alone. May you know you are good and worthy and more than enough.
I bless all the ages of you and all the ages you will ever be. Amen.
Now that you created your inner child altar and have read my inner child blessing, it is your turn to write your own. This blessing is about releasing the ages of you that have felt silenced, scared, small. With your words and blessings, you will set yourself free.
How do you write your Inner Child blessing?
Each stanza has three lines.
Begin the first line of the stanza with "I bless you."
Begin the second line of the stanza with a description with the words "that" or "the."
Begin the last line of the stanza with "may you know."
Feel free to create as many stanzas as you'd like.
Closing your blessing with "Amen" or words of your choice.
Feel free to go back and look at my inner child blessing example as a guide for structure.
